Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Pavilion In Enchanted Mountains by Ren Xiong. The price achieved of USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,980.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ren Xiong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Drinking Cards with Illustrations of Daoist Immortals in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 5,765,000.00 (€ 668,633.27).
