Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mujer ornamentada by René Portocarrero was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in July 2021. The price achieved of USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,224.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by René Portocarrero achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paisaje de La Habana in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 295,500.00 (€ 279,353.37).

Die Arbeit Mujer ornamentada von René Portocarrero kam im Juli 2021 bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.224,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von René Portocarrero erzielen.
