In November 2010 Christies in Paris held the auction Avedon : Photographies provenant de la Fondation Richard Avedon, which included the work The Family by Richard Avedon. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 205,000.00 71% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Richard Avedon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London in November last year with an auction result of GBP 809,000.00 (€ 937,446.28).

Im November 2010 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Avedon : Photographies provenant de la Fondation Richard Avedon durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Family von Richard Avedon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 205.000,00 und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Avedon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 809.000,00 (€ 937.446,28).
