Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Honourable Mrs Aldworth, wearing masonic emblems, resting finger of left hand on an open Bible by Richard Earlom was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 471.09). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Earlom achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Blacksmith's Shop in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 11,250.00 (€ 9,821.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Honourable Mrs Aldworth, wearing masonic emblems, resting finger of left hand on an open Bible von Richard Earlom im März 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 375,00 (€ 471,09) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Earlom erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Blacksmith's Shop im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 9.821,90).
