In June 2001 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Eventide by Robert William Vonnoh. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,400.00 (€ 11,092.75), 57% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Robert William Vonnoh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Blue Chair in December 2004 with an auction result of USD 71,700.00 (€ 52,962.03).

Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eventide von Robert William Vonnoh zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.400,00 (€ 11.092,75) und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert William Vonnoh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Blue Chair im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 71.700,00 (€ 52.962,03).
