Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Rolph Scarlett achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April this year. In the Modern American Art auction, the work Yellow Disk No. 5 sold for USD 25,200.00 (€ 22,826.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rolph Scarlett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2018 for USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,276.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rolph Scarlett erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern American Art wurde die Arbeit Yellow Disk No. 5 für USD 25.200,00 (€ 22.826,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rolph Scarlett mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2018 für USD 87.500,00 (€ 77.276,34) versteigert wurde.
