Auction result well in line with expectations

In February last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Ruth Orkin@100Photographs Online, which included the work Hot dog stand from above, New York City by Ruth Orkin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 908.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruth Orkin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American Girl in Florence, Italy in February 2021 with an auction result of USD 52,812.50 (€ 43,671.96).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Ruth Orkin@100Photographs Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hot dog stand from above, New York City von Ruth Orkin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 908,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruth Orkin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit American Girl in Florence, Italy im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.812,50 (€ 43.671,96).
