Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A torrent in a Scandinavian landscape, a house beyond by Salomon Rombouts was sold in the Scone Palace and Blairquhan The Selected Contents of Two Great Scottish Houses auction at Christies in London in May 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,944.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Salomon Rombouts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A village kermesse with figures in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 45,000.00 (€ 49,407.01).
