Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, Traditiona by Salvator Rosa was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 206,250.00 (€ 243,763.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Salvator Rosa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of the artist, half-length, in a brown doublet, which sold at auction in July 2010 for GBP 769,250.00 (€ 924,936.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, Traditiona von Salvator Rosa kam im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 206.250,00 (€ 243.763,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Salvator Rosa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of the artist, half-length, in a brown doublet beobachtet, die im Juli 2010 für GBP 769.250,00 (€ 924.936,45) versteigert wurde.
