This artwork by Shen Quan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May 2016. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Horses After Zhao Mengfu sold for HKD 325,000.00 (€ 37,563.99) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shen Quan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Auspicious Deer in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,658,000.00 (€ 376,601.76).
