Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Notes for Oedipus IV, 1975 by Sidney Nolan was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Bonhams in Sidney in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 30,750.00 (€ 28,655.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sidney Nolan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gully (Ned Kelly) in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 264,500.00 (€ 359,410.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Notes for Oedipus IV, 1975 von Sidney Nolan wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Bonhams in Sidney versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 30.750,00 (€ 28.655,30) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sidney Nolan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gully (Ned Kelly) im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 264.500,00 (€ 359.410,63).
