Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gypsies in Hampshire by Alfred Munnings was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 60,500.00 (€ 76,958.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Munnings achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gypsies Arriving at Epsom in December 2000 with an auction result of USD 3,031,000.00 (€ 3,228,589.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gypsies in Hampshire von Alfred Munnings kam im Mai 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 60.500,00 (€ 76.958,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Munnings erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gypsies Arriving at Epsom im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.031.000,00 (€ 3.228.589,69).
