The work Portrait of a Young Woman (Annie Keene) by Edward Burne-Jones was sold in the The Joe Setton Collection: from Pre-Raphaelites to Last Romantics auction at Christies in London in December 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,745.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Burne-Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Love among the Ruins in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 14,845,875.00 (€ 16,963,999.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a Young Woman (Annie Keene) von Edward Burne-Jones wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion The Joe Setton Collection: from Pre-Raphaelites to Last Romantics bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 87.500,00 (€ 97.745,30) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Burne-Jones erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Love among the Ruins im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.845.875,00 (€ 16.963.999,76).
