Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Harvesters: Setting up Sheaves by George Clausen was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 350,000.00 (€ 300,506.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Clausen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gleaners, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 710,850.00 (€ 1,022,553.89).
