Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gerald Kelly achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2015. In the Victorian, Pre Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work La Sevillana sold for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 51,845.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerald Kelly - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Glass of Sherry in the Studio, Portrait of W. Somerset Maugham, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 94,000.00 (€ 104,935.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gerald Kelly erzielte im März 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian, Pre Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit La Sevillana für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 51.845,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerald Kelly mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Glass of Sherry in the Studio, Portrait of W. Somerset Maugham beobachtet, die im November 2020 für GBP 94.000,00 (€ 104.935,72) versteigert wurde.
