Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of Anne Blair Maconochie Welwood Of Garvock, Lady Meadowbank (1784–1866), Half-Length, Wearing A Brown And White Dress, With Pearl Earrings And Necklace by Henry Raeburn for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,279.06). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Day Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Raeburn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sir Evan Murray-MacGregor of MacGregor, 2nd Bt., K.C.B., K.C.H., 19th Chief of Clan Gregor, as a boy (1785-1841), full-length, in tartan, in a landscape in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 458,500.00 (€ 578,312.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait Of Anne Blair Maconochie Welwood Of Garvock, Lady Meadowbank (1784–1866), Half-Length, Wearing A Brown And White Dress, With Pearl Earrings And Necklace von Henry Raeburn für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 22.279,06) erwerben.
