Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2005 Christies in London held the auction JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR, which included the work The Honourable Charles Spencer Bateman Hanbury Kincaid-Lennox Politician by Leslie Matthew Ward. The price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,741.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leslie Matthew Ward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Earl of Darnley, 'Ivo' Cricketer in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,125.99).

OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Honourable Charles Spencer Bateman Hanbury Kincaid-Lennox Politician von Leslie Matthew Ward zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.741,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden.
