Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of Lady Elizabeth Lowther (Died 1869) by Thomas Lawrence for USD 43,750.00 (€ 35,202.77). This price was achieved in the auction The Otto Naumann Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Lawrence achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Arthur Wellesley, 1St Duke of Wellington, K.G., K.B., M.P. (1769-1852), Bust-Length, In Civilian Clothes With A Military Cloak, Wearing The Insignia of The Order of The Golden Fleece in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 2,080,000.00 (€ 3,088,865.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait Of Lady Elizabeth Lowther (Died 1869) von Thomas Lawrence für USD 43.750,00 (€ 35.202,77) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Otto Naumann Sale bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00.
