The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,127.98), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Barker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Roman Capriccio With Figures, The Colosseum Beyond in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 23,300.00 (€ 29,704.21).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.997,50 (€ 3.127,98) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Barker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Roman Capriccio With Figures, The Colosseum Beyond im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.300,00 (€ 29.704,21).
