Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2000 Christies in New York held the auction American Vision, which included the work Scene along the Hudson by Thomas Doughty. The price achieved of USD 8,625.00 (€ 8,839.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Doughty achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumn Landscape in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 292,000.00 (€ 325,965.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Vision durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scene along the Hudson von Thomas Doughty zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.625,00 (€ 8.839,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Doughty erzielen.
