In the British Pictures 1500-1850 auction, the work Portrait of The Family of The 3Rd Duke of Marlborough, A Landscape Beyond sold for GBP 22,800.00 (€ 33,791.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hudson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of John and Robert, sons of Robert Ker, 2nd Duke of Roxburghe, in van Dyck costume with their two dogs, an extensive landscape beyond in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 450,000.00 (€ 386,365.59).
