Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work In The Arms Of Someone New by Tony Scherman was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of CAD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for CAD 24,000.00 (€ 18,574.63). Other works by Tony Scherman have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2012 by the work Bonaparte at CAD 39,000.00 (€ 30,477.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit In The Arms Of Someone New von Tony Scherman im November 2012 bei Sothebys in Toronto versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für CAD 24.000,00 (€ 18.574,63) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Tony Scherman wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2012 die Arbeit Bonaparte mit CAD 39.000,00 (€ 30.477,03).
