This artwork by Utagawa Kuniyoshi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in March this year. In the Fine Japanese and Korean Works of Art auction, the work Shichirihama yori Enoshima no enkei (View of Enoshima from Shichirihama Beach) sold for USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,580.02) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Kuniyoshi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mitsukuni Defying The Skeleton Spectre Conjured Up By Princess Takiyasha (Souma No Furudairi Yokai Ga Shadokuro To Tatakau Oya Notarou Mitsukuni) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 200,000.00 (€ 234,848.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 87 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Utagawa Kuniyoshi erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Works of Art wurde die Arbeit Shichirihama yori Enoshima no enkei (View of Enoshima from Shichirihama Beach) für USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.580,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Kuniyoshi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mitsukuni Defying The Skeleton Spectre Conjured Up By Princess Takiyasha (Souma No Furudairi Yokai Ga Shadokuro To Tatakau Oya Notarou Mitsukuni) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 200.000,00 (€ 234.848,90).
