Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2009 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern+Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Vasudeo S. Gaitonde. It changed hands for a price of USD 194,500.00 (€ 132,946.00) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vasudeo S. Gaitonde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 4,092,500.00 (€ 3,464,403.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern+Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 194.500,00 (€ 132.946,00) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.092.500,00 (€ 3.464.403,62).
