Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Nox by Victor Hugo was worth EUR 37,500.00 to a buyer in June 2014. This price was achieved in the auction Tableaux et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle at Sothebys in Paris and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Hugo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Planète (Saturne) in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 434,500.00 (€ 527,153.05).

Die Arbeit Nox von Victor Hugo war einem Käufer im Juni 2014 EUR 37.500,00 wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Tableaux et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle bei Sothebys in Paris erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 12.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Hugo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Planète (Saturne) im Februar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 434.500,00 (€ 527.153,05).
