screenprint in blue/black, 1944-76, on wove paper, with the printed signature, printed to the edges of the sheet, one or two slight surface scuffs, a soft crease in the lower left corner, otherwise apparently in good condition, the reverse unexamined, framed

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The work Zebras (full body white on blue/black) by Victor Vasarely was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2007. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 900.00 (€ 1,336.71). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Vasarely achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Altaï Iii in February 2010 with an auction result of GBP 565,250.00 (€ 630,588.93).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Die Arbeit Zebras (full body white on blue/black) von Victor Vasarely kam im Juli 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 900,00 (€ 1.336,71) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Vasarely erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Altaï Iii im Februar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 565.250,00 (€ 630.588,93).
