Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Vilhelm Hammershøi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2017. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work Danish white Doors, Strandgade 30 sold for GBP 1,448,750.00 (€ 1,649,855.95) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vilhelm Hammershøi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stue (Interior with an Oval Mirror), which sold at auction in May last year for USD 6,300,000.00 (€ 5,870,841.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Vilhelm Hammershøi erzielte im Juni 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wurde die Arbeit Danish white Doors, Strandgade 30 für GBP 1.448.750,00 (€ 1.649.855,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Vilhelm Hammershøi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stue (Interior with an Oval Mirror) beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 6.300.000,00 (€ 5.870.841,49) versteigert wurde.
