This price was achieved in the auction Maritime Art at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Vilhelm Melbye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Spanish felucca, British warships and other shipping in the Mediterranean off Gibraltar in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 53,887.60).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Maritime Art bei Christies in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 um ein Vielfaches.
