Sold at the upper estimate price
In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Spring Garden by Wang Hui. The auction ended at the price of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 54,781.72), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 400,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Hui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Endless Streams and Mountains in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 28,925,000.00 (€ 3,169,122.64).
