Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work Dhuta Practice by Wang Zhen was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 50,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at HKD 325,000.00 (€ 33,459.70). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Zhen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Virtues Of Happiness in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 4,735,000.00 (€ 518,782.91).
Kunstwerk zum Sechsfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Dhuta Practice von Wang Zhen im Oktober 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 50.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 325.000,00 (€ 33.459,70) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Zhen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Virtues Of Happiness im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.735.000,00 (€ 518.782,91).
