Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Mi Fu'S Poem In Running Script by Weng Tonghe was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 4,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,459.87). Admittedly, works by Weng Tonghe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script in November 2017 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 80,748.87).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Mi Fu'S Poem In Running Script von Weng Tonghe im September 2016 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 4.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.459,87) mehr als viermal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Weng Tonghe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 80.748,87).
