Auction result well in line with expectations
The work German bauernmädchen (Peasant Girl) by Wilhelm Leibl was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2010. The price achieved of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 116,213.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wilhelm Leibl - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ein Kritiker, which sold at auction in November this year for EUR 403,200.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit German bauernmädchen (Peasant Girl) von Wilhelm Leibl kam im November 2010 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 97.250,00 (€ 116.213,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Wilhelm Leibl mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ein Kritiker beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für EUR 403.200,00 versteigert wurde.
