Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work A summer morning off Sheerness by William Callcott Knell for USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,126.47). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by William Callcott Knell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Warships approaching the anchorage in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 33,600.00 (€ 25,850.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A summer morning off Sheerness von William Callcott Knell für USD 8.400,00 (€ 6.126,47) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Maritime bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Callcott Knell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Warships approaching the anchorage im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.600,00 (€ 25.850,13).
