Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mosque at Muttra in the province of Agra by William Daniell was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2016. It changed hands for a price of GBP 149,000.00 (€ 174,205.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Daniell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shivala Ghaut and Cheyt Singh's House near Benares, which sold at auction in December 2016 for GBP 485,000.00 (€ 567,043.69).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 149.000,00 (€ 174.205,17) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Daniell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shivala Ghaut and Cheyt Singh's House near Benares beobachtet, die im Dezember 2016 für GBP 485.000,00 (€ 567.043,69) versteigert wurde.
