In June 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Illustration For 'Black Pawl' Ben Ames Williams by William Henry Dethlef Koerner for USD 235.00 (€ 277.32). This price was achieved in the auction THE GAINES DE GRAFFENRIED FAMILY COLLECTION OF TEXAS at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house.
