Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work Tulips in a vase by William Leech. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,722.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Leech have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Shining Palace in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 102,750.00 (€ 164,875.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tulips in a vase von William Leech zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.722,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Leech auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Shining Palace im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.750,00 (€ 164.875,86).
