In June 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Art, which included the work The farmer's daughter by William Shayer Snr.. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,648.28) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Shayer Snr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The itinerant rabbit seller in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 36,425.00 (€ 57,963.65).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The farmer's daughter von William Shayer Snr. zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.648,28) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Shayer Snr. erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The itinerant rabbit seller im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.425,00 (€ 57.963,65).
