Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work Cherry Blossom by William Stewart MacGeorge. The price achieved of GBP 7,170.00 (€ 10,319.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Stewart MacGeorge have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nutting in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 66,325.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cherry Blossom von William Stewart MacGeorge zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.170,00 (€ 10.319,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Stewart MacGeorge auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nutting im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.410,00 (€ 66.325,43).
