In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Autumn Woods by William Trost Richards. The »bidding war« ended at USD 206,250.00 (€ 187,176.69), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Trost Richards have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mackerel Cove, Jamestown, Rhode Island in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,148,094.05).

Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Autumn Woods von William Trost Richards zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 206.250,00 (€ 187.176,69) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Trost Richards auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mackerel Cove, Jamestown, Rhode Island im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.650.500,00 (€ 1.148.094,05).
