Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Turner of Oxford could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt auction, the work Iffley Church, Oxford changed hands for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,438.76) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Turner of Oxford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An April shower in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 44,601.44).
