This artwork by Willy Sluiter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Amsterdam in October 2006. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work A Jumping Jockey sold for EUR 19,200.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willy Sluiter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Modern times: promenading on Scheveningen boulevard in April 2003 with an auction result of EUR 89,625.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Willy Sluiter erzielte im Oktober 2006 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wurde die Arbeit A Jumping Jockey für EUR 19.200,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willy Sluiter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Modern times: promenading on Scheveningen boulevard im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 89.625,00.
