Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wolf Kahn achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April this year. In the Modern American Art auction, the work Fog Bank Lifting Over the Connecticut River sold for USD 176,400.00 (€ 159,782.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wolf Kahn; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Atlantic Highlands sold at auction in November 2021 with the realized price of USD 212,500.00 (€ 188,269.69).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Wolf Kahn erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern American Art wurde die Arbeit Fog Bank Lifting Over the Connecticut River für USD 176.400,00 (€ 159.782,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Wolf Kahn; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Atlantic Highlands im November 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 188.269,69).
