In November 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work A Seaside Scene of Singapore by Wu Guanzhong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 4,500,000.00 (€ 500,354.39), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Guanzhong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Zhou Village in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 236,000,000.00 (€ 26,588,934.53).
