Auction result well in line with expectations
The work By the Banks by Wu Guanzhong was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Cologne in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 4,410,000.00 (€ 528,587.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Guanzhong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Zhou Village in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 236,000,000.00 (€ 26,588,934.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit By the Banks von Wu Guanzhong wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Köln versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 4.410.000,00 (€ 528.587,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wu Guanzhong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Zhou Village im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 236.000.000,00 (€ 26.588.934,53).
