Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Mountain Village Fish Pond by Wu Guanzhong. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,625,000.00 (€ 171,775.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Guanzhong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Zhou Village in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 236,000,000.00 (€ 26,588,934.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2021 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mountain Village Fish Pond von Wu Guanzhong zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.625.000,00 (€ 171.775,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wu Guanzhong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Zhou Village im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 236.000.000,00 (€ 26.588.934,53).
