The work Music Notes of Pines by Wu Guanzhong was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. It achieved a price of HKD 4,536,000.00 (€ 543,573.75), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 62%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Guanzhong achieve.
