In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Snow Landscape by Wu Shixian. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 56,250 (€ 6,146), 61% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wu Shixian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work , which sold at auction in October 2009 for HKD 237,500 (€ 20,764).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 61% übertroffen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Snow Landscape von Wu Shixian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 56.250 (€ 6.146) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Wu Shixian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit beobachtet, die im Oktober 2009 für HKD 237.500 (€ 20.764) versteigert wurde.
