Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August this year Christies in New York held the auction Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Standing Horse by Xu Beihong. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 252,000.00 (€ 29,642.96). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Beihong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Put Down Your Whip in April 2007 with an auction result of HKD 72,000,000.00 (€ 6,741,434.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Standing Horse von Xu Beihong zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 252.000,00 (€ 29.642,96) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Beihong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Put Down Your Whip im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 72.000.000,00 (€ 6.741.434,85).
