Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Christies in Cologne held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Two Horses under Willows by Xu Beihong. The price achieved of HKD 5,292,000.00 (€ 634,304.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Beihong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Put Down Your Whip in April 2007 with an auction result of HKD 72,000,000.00 (€ 6,741,434.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Köln die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Horses under Willows von Xu Beihong zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 5.292.000,00 (€ 634.304,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Beihong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Put Down Your Whip im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 72.000.000,00 (€ 6.741.434,85).
