The work Square Word Calligraphy – Long Life and Happiness by Xu Bing was sold in the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016. It achieved a price of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 54,901.21), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Bing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Living Word in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 7,607,500.00 (€ 626,954.17).

Die Arbeit Square Word Calligraphy – Long Life and Happiness von Xu Bing wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 54.901,21) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 58%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Bing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Living Word im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.607.500,00 (€ 626.954,17).
